Logos’ Free Book of the Month for the first half of February 2024 is Adele Berlin’s The Dynamics of Biblical Parallelism (Eerdmans, 2008). The study of its structure enhances understanding of biblical poetry. In this book, Adele Berlin analyzes parallelism, a major feature of Hebrew poetry, from a linguistic perspective.
As usual, Logos has some great discounts on other resources on sale through February 29:
- Chuck DeGroat, Toughest People to Love: How to Understand, Lead, and Love the Difficult People in Your Life—Including Yourself, $1.99
- C. S. Lewis, The Pilgrim’s Regress, Wade Annotated Edition, $3.99
- Ronald Y. K. Fung, The Epistle to the Galatians (NICNT), $5.99
- F. Charles Fensham, The Books of Ezra and Nehemiah (NICOT), $7.99
- Murray J. Harris, The Second Epistle to the Corinthians (NIGTC), $9.99
- Amy Erickson, Jonah: Introduction and Commentary (Illuminations Commentary Series), $11.99 (Reviewed here)
- Pre-Order and Save: James D. Nogalski, The Book of Micah (NICOT), $27.99 (Reviewed here)
These are great prices for high-quality academic commentaries. I highly recommend Fung’s Galatians commentary, but anything in the NICOT or NICNT will be very good. The pre-order on Nogalski’s Micah commentary is really attractive. But act quickly. These deals go away on February 15; new free books start mid-month.
Logos has a Publisher’s Spotlight sale on Bloomsbury and Moody books for the whole month of February. Bloomsbury is an academic publisher, and there are some great deals on academic monograph collections, both biblical studies and theology (up to 50% off!) The Moody titles are only 30% off, but plenty of practical titles are on the list. (Scroll down for the Moody books).
