Logos Free Book of the Month for June 2021 – Hard Sayings of the Bible

Hard Sayings of the Bible FreeLogos Bible Software’s Free Book of the Month promotion partners with IVP Academic for the month of June. You can add Hard Sayings of the Bible (IVP, 1992) to your Logos library for free. Four scholars, Walter C. Kaiser Jr., Peter H. Davids, F. F. Bruce, and Manfred T. Brauch, offer explanations of over 500 of the most troubling verses in Bible readers. The book covers a wide variety of Bible difficulties, ranging from discrepancies about numbers to questions about God’s justice.

As always Logos offers some deep discounts on other books from their featured publisher. This month you can add these excellent biblical commentaries and theology books to your library for a reasonable price:

  • Alister McGrath, The Spirit of Grace, 99 cents
  • Tremper Longman III, Psalms: An Introduction and Commentary (TNTC), $1.99
  • Donald Macleod, The Person of Christ (Contours of Christian Theology), $2.99
  • Linda L. Belleville, 2 Corinthians (The IVP New Testament Commentary Series), $3.99
  • Greg K. Beale, The Temple and the Church’s Mission: A Biblical Theology of the Dwelling Place of God (New Studies in Biblical Theology), $4.99
  • John Goldingay and Tom Wright, The Bible for Everyone, $5.99
  • Desmond Alexander, Exodus (Apollos Old Testament Commentary), $6.99
  • Stephen Smalley, The Revelation to John: A Commentary on the Greek Text of the Apocalypse, $8.99
  • Gary Millar, Changed into His Likeness: A Biblical Theology of Personal Transformation (New Studies in Biblical Theology), (pre-order, $7.99)

Longman on the Psalms is brief, but very good, Belleville on 2 Corinthians is certainly a great commentary, but the real deal is Alexander’s Exodus commentary in the Apollos series. There are two volumes in the NSBT series, Beale’s The Temple and the Church’s Mission has been influential and is well worth reading.
