Bob MacDonald posted an excellent collection of links to the best and brightest posts on the internet for the Biblical Studies Carnival for May 2024. Or, he used AI to generate the whole thing. Would we really know?
In other carnival news, Brian Small posted his Hebrews Highlights for April and May. If you are interested in Hebrews, Brian posts links to new books and scholarly articles on Hebrews a few times a month. SlimJim posted a collection of Presuppositional Apologetic Links for May 2024. If you are listening SlimJim, you need to host a Carnival.
Bob says, “Compiling a carnival is really fun. I had forgotten how much fun it is. As the month progresses, themes emerge. There are surprises. Who knows what it will be in advance? ” And yes, I always look for volunteers to host upcoming Biblical Studies carnivals on your website. People are doing really good work on podcasts and YouTube. It would be great if someone did a carnival featuring some of the best academic podcasts. As of this moment, I do not have anyone for June 2024 (Due July 1), July 2024 Due August 1), or August 2024 (Due September 1).
What does a Carnival look like? Look over Bob’s carnival. It is a great model. But you are not required to follow the usual categories. The reason we want different hosts is to get different perspectives. I know there are many Biblical and Theological podcasts out there, but I don’t have time to listen to many. Here is the November 2023 Carnival I posted; use it as a model. Contact me (email, plong42 @ gmail.com). You can follow me on Twitter and DM me if that is your style. I am on Threads @plong42; feel free to follow me there, too.
