Rare 1918 Film of Jerusalem

Here is an eight minute film clip of Jerusalem in 1918.  This is more interesting if you visited Jerusalem recently since there have been dramatic changes in Old City, especially the Western Wall plaza.  Some of the shots of the “Wailing Wall” as it was called then are almost unrecognizable compared to the present wall. Quite a few nice “street scenes” of the Old City, the scene depicting the Tomb of David is striking considering how much that area has been built up in the last 50 years.

This has been on YouTube foe a long time, but I just saw I link to it and thought I’d share it here.  Via Israel’s History Picture a Day.  This is a great site, collecting old pictures of Jerusalem and Israel.
