In September 2018 I taught an undergrad class on the Synoptic Gospels. As part of this class I blogged through the Sermon on the Mount over three months. I taught the Sermon in a Bible Study format at my church and found that was not enough time to cover everything I thought was important. Then both Scot McKnight and Jonathan Pennington both published commentaries on the Sermon on the Mount, so the blog format gave me an opportunity to interact with them in more detail.
After the series was finished in December, I gathered the links and turned this page into an index for the Sermon on the Mount series. Once again I taught the Synoptic Gospels in September 2020, but I focused on Matthew 8-12. Since the original posting I have done some editing and expansion on the original Sermon on the Mount posts.
